LoFT visit to Romania
After five days in Romania, we are finally back to normal and ready to share our experience with you guys. Well changing 2 planes and waiting 5 hours for the next flight can be fun. We confirmed that by opening a kinder garden centre at the Budapest Airport. Ok, ok we didn’t manage to fill all the forms for a legally established business, and we didn’t manage to get paid but at least we were entertaining two children and of course ourselvesJ. We landed at Cluj, and group of people was waiting us outside. OMG this has to be the LoFT Romania team…and tdmm, several guys from the team ready to give us an unforgettable stay in Cluj. Day by day, activity by activity, starting from mountain walking, bbq, working at the local centre for disabled children, cooking traditional food (if you consider macaroni as traditional Macedonian or Romanian food: P), debate on multiculturalism wow plenty of activities ha? This wasn’t all. At the final evening both teams hosted intercultural show, where we were representing ours and other cultures as well, then doing some traditional dances etc. It was very successful event I must admit. The departure day came…. We were very sad for saying goodbye, but not for long since there is a possibility to see all four team in June in Scotland. In the meanwhile enjoy with the photos and some videos of the exchange.
Youth Influence – video clips
Here are the three video clips showed at the exhibition.
Video that shows the life of the children with visual impairment in Dimitar Vlahov Special School.
Video that shows how we, the young people influence positively in the community, by organizing and participating in a music workshop.
Overview of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian visit to Macedonia.
Mission successful!
We are very happy to say that our main event, the photography exhibition” Youth Influence” went with huge success. The exhibition started with an opening speech by the coordinator of the project Andreja Bogdanovski, saying a short info about the project. Mr. Ivan Blazev said more on the photography workshops and the experience he had while working with the group. One of the many highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Youth Influence video clips to the audience, which were made with the support of the independent youth film media production Cre8ive8. The main part followed, many people donated money for the school for visual impaired children Dimitar Vlahov in Skopje, thus investing in better educational resources. We had a good media coverage as well. Two of the national televisions were present at the exhibition. It is worth mentioning that HMA of the Republic of Slovenia in Macedonia participated in the event as well.
Great success for all of the LoFT Macedonia team. Without their enthusiasm and hard work this wouldn’t have become a reality.
What the others say about the exhibition (in Macedonian)

Visit of the LoFT team from Bosnia and Herzegovina; 20-25 February 2008
We have hosted the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina from 20 – 25 February. The main aim of the visit was to create a short movie clip that show how young people influence. For that purpose we have had a film making workshop with Cre8ive8 youth film production. But this wasn’t everything we prepared for them. We continued with discussions about the implementation of both projects, and also we shared our experiences about the influence that the young people have in both countries. We have visited the school for visually impaired children Dimitar Vlahov where we had a music workshop with Mr. Damjan Temkov. In 3 hours time we were all playing the traditional Macedonian song- Jovano Jovanke. Finally we had a time to visit the old part of the city.
Have a look at some of the videos we have taken during the visit
Photography workshop
On Sunday 27th January we had our first photography workshop together with Ivan Blazev, a professional photographer. All of the selected participants were there. Our team mates Stevica and Ivanco did the ice breaking games and also informed the participants about the concept of the project. Afterwards, Ivan started with his work, explaining and discussing with the participants about the impact of the photography in the society and the types of photography.
We have three more meetings together

Youth influence
Summary of the project
Youth influence is the name of the project developed as a joint effort of all members of the LoFT team in Macedonia.
The aim of the project is to enable young people in Skopje to show their creativity and send a message about the influence that the young people are making in their local communities, through the photography as a medium. This is directly connected with the general objectives of the LoFT project: empowering young people to take action in their local communities thus bringing down the stereotypes that exist between them. In addition, the project has a humanitarian element as well. The best photos will be set up an exhibition, organized by the LoFT team in Macedonia and will be printed as postcards. The photographs and the postcards will go on an auction and the money gathered will be donated to charity.
Aims of the project:
- Show that the young people really make a difference
- Promote charity, understanding and tolerance
- Give opportunity to around 30 young people to show their creativity
- Gain new skills and opportunity to learn from a professional photographer
Activities:
- Photography workshop
- Exchange with the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Exhibition
- Exchange with the team from Romania
Photography workshop
The first activity of Youth influence is the photography workshop that will happen at the end of January and the beginning of February 08. The aim of this workshop is for young people to express themselves by taking photographs which would represent young people’s influence in the society. Consequently, through this activity the participant would get an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and improve their existing ones.
The concept of this workshop involves having 30 young people who will work together with a professional photographer over a three-week period. Finally, a selection of the best photographs will be made and they will be printed both postcards and photographs for the exhibition.
Target group of this project is young people living in Skopje aged 15-25.
Visit of the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina
The visit of the Bosnian group will be used as a perfect occasion for making of video clips which should picture the influence of young people as well. Mixed teams will be formed and they will work on the making of the clips. This activity will be realized in cooperation with Cre8ive8, a young film production from Macedonia.
The exhibition
The exhibition is the main event of this project where people will get the chance to see the products the young people involved in the project have made. The photographs will be exhibited in one of art galleries in Skopje. The photographs will also be printed as postcards and later used for gathering of financial aid for charity.
Teambuilding session
We’ve got our first team building session. It was sooo fun. I must say that it wasn’t a regular team building using name game techniques, icebreakers etc. It was I would say innovative one, using camera and media. Hmmm sound strange ha? Well we’ve got the pleasure of having the creative cre8ive8 beings (believe me I know what I’m writing) http://www.cre8ive8.blogspot.com/.
Ok we’ve got the animal game as an icebreaker, but have to admit it was so fun making sounds of a cow, or a frog. Hmmm .Anyhow our next task was thinking for toothpaste commercial. OMG here comes the funny part. Group No1 draw BIIIP. The other group made a very creative scenario, end of story, you can use your wild imagination to guess what was the first one. And finally, remember when you’re teachers are saying put the theory into practice, weeeell walaa, meet the LoFT Macedonia team J
